An extensive career of teaching drawing, photography and etching was perfect preparation for the disciplined approach needed for botanical illustration. I began this style of drawing in 2008 after being inspired by it's beauty, accuracy and attention to detail. The evolution of contemporary botanical art will continue to challenge me as an artist.
Subject matter abounds near my home in Pennsylvania and at my winter retreat in Florida. Most of my work is in colored pencil on paper or Dura-lar, though I also enjoy rendering in graphite, pen and ink and watercolor.
Professional affiliations include the American Society of Botanical Artists(ASBA) and the Colored Pencil Society of America(CPSA). My award winning illustrations have been accepted in juried exhibitions and galleries in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and California. I am also a featured artist in Colorful Edibles, a publication of the ASBA.
